Office of Administration.
Who are We?
The Office of Administration (OOA) is an exceptional service-oriented workforce that supports the university's academic mission -- teaching, research and public service.
We support all campus departments by providing life safety and administrative services, fire and police protection, employee medical support, and environmental health monitoring. We receive deliveries, distribute the mail, provide purchasing services, recycle reusable and spent materials, offer design and reprographic services.
We support the many visitors to our campus who count on us to arrange tours, sell tickets, and coordinate conferences and major events.
We manage the operations that keep the campus running. We design, build, remodel, clean and maintain our physical facilities and campus grounds.
We
manage campus parking and fleet vehicles, provide for alternative transportation options and operate the campus airport. We keep the utility delivery system operating, manage energy consumption, treat and monitor wastewater, and manage the campus landfill.
We oversee a wide range of campus business processes. We negotiate and process campus business contracts, administer staff policy development, provide financial accounting and control services, manage the employee payroll process, and make sure our campus bills get paid. We operate campus insurance programs, oversee claim and litigation services, and provide a controls and accountability program that enhances our stewardship philosophy. We pursue an enterprise-wide risk management environment that allows our staff to seek ways to increase opportunities and reduce risks.
We value a work environment that promotes recognition and respect. We understand the benefit to the entire campus when employees are given the services and resources they need to succeed. We furnish a staff training and development program, childcare services, employee counseling support, disability management assistance, workers' compensation services, and a mediation program. We administer employment and outreach programs, affirmative action and diversity programs, temporary employment services, employee benefits, compensation services, and sexual harassment education. As a model-employer, we pursue positive and progressive relationships with our collective bargaining partners.
We are the staff of the Office of Administration, and we are proud of the services and expertise we provide to support the University of California, Davis!
